Jerry "Don" Sparks, 56, of Clovis, NM died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Closed Casket services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Turvaville officiating. Burial will follow at Portales Cemetery in Portales, NM. Dale McInnes, Jesse McInnes, Mike Golden, Mikey Richards, Johnny Paiz, and Dan "Junior" Johns wil serve as pallbearers.

Don was born January 15, 1956 to Jerry Vernon and Jennie (Perry) Sparks in Portales, NM. He worked as an Exterminator for the family business Macs Pest Controll. Don was a member at Highland Baptist Church and enjoyed working with horses, roping, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Cowboys Fan and volunteered as a Coach for Little League Baseball and was on the Board for Little Wranglers Rodeo.

Survivors include his mother, Jennie Sparks of Clovis, NM; two sons, Tanner (Rachelle) Sparks of Portales, NM, and Chaney (Hailey) Sparks of Farwell, TX; two sisters, Sharon (Dale) McInnes of Farmington, NM, and Janice (Dean) Johnson of Lubbock, TX; a brother, Larry (Sam) Sparks of Tucumcari, NM; five grandchildren, Chalee, Talon, Kennedi, Landri, and Charli; the love of his life, Mona Sparks; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry V. Sparks; and nephew, Decatur Sparks.
