Riley Ewers Jr 73, of Clovis, NM passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be held at Muffley Funeral Home Friday, August 17, 2012 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 18, 2012 at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories with Military Honors by Cannon AFB Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Cannon AFB Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Patriot Guard and members of the American Legion 117.
Riley was born November 30, 1938 to Riley and Keatlas (Adams) Ewers in Houston, TX. He came to Clovis in 1975. He served in the US Air Force retiring as a TSgt. After his retirement he worked civil service at the Commisary as the Produce Manager. Riley was a member of the American Legion 117. He loved bowling and the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors inlcude his sons, Robert (Dannette) Ewers of Clovis, NM, and Mark Ewers of Amarillo, TX; two sisters, Katherine (Johnny) Taylor of Ft. Worth, TX, and Elmer (James) Jones of Forrest, Mississippi; two granddaughters, Britney Ewers and Logann Ewers; a great-grandson, Brayden; and his special friends, Asuncion (Little Bit), Larry, Aisha, Chekesa, Jackie and CJ. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and sisters.
