Doyce Clayton Wright

Doyce Wright age 72 of Clovis, NM passed away Saturday May 5, 2012 at Fairhaven Assisited Living in Clovis. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday May 8, 2012 at Muffley Funeral Home Chapel, 1430 Thornton, with Ron Johnson officiating.

Doyce was born February 21, 1940 in Fort Sumner, NM to Edwin Mays and Nina Faye (Scroggins) Wright. He Married Donna Dwire on June 20, 1987 in Clovis, NM.

As a young man he worked for SafeWay and Piggly Wiggly Grocery stores in Clovis, then managed Cashway Grocery in Carlsbad, NM. He was Construction Foreman, building custom residential homes in Clovis with his brother E.M Wright, and from 1973 until his retirement in 1998. He worked as a Government Civil Service employee as an Engineering Technician at Cannon AFB, Clovis, NM, Housing Facilities Manager at Kirkland AFB, Albuquerque, NM, Housing Management Specialist at Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan and Director Family Housing at White Sands Missile Range in Las Cruces, NM.

With Doyce's even temperament, pleasing and fun loving personality, he made friends easily and could converse with anyone about almost any subject. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, golfing, and playing 42.

Survivors include his wife; Donna Wright, son; Doyce Randall (Rynnea) Wright, daughter; Anna Marie (Scott) Box, granddaughters; Kandis Layne and Erynn Nicol Wright all of Rio Rancho, NM, stepson; Steve Dwire of Clovis, NM, stepdaughter; Rhonda Dwire of Dallas, TX, and one sister; Norma Jean Davis of Janesville, Wisconsin.

He was proceded in death by his parents, brother; E.M Wright and his first wife Mary Ann.
