Louise McPherson

Callie Louise Guyton McPherson departed this world to be with her heavenly father Thursday, April 19, 2012 in Aurora, Colorado. She was one of four daughters born to the late Albert and Annie (Hill) Guyton in Clarksville, Texas. Louise attended school in Clarksville, Texas and Washington High School in Texarkana, Arkansas. In 1939, she married Claude McPhearson Sr. They moved to Clovis, New Mexico in 1943, with their daughter Mary. A woman of deep faith in the Lo9rd, Louise became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Her love and service to the Lord and her church span over sixty years. She was a deaconess and served in the Missionary Ministry and numerous church activities. She was a member of the NAAXP and NACWC in which she actively supported educational schoolarships. She has always expressed the importance of education. A determined and vivacious woman, at times she worked multiple jobs wich included being employed as a Medical Assistant for twenty-seven years.

Louise enjoyed scrapbooking, game shows, and loved to read the bible and "The Daily Bread". She loved gospel music and Christmas Carols. She played basketball as a teenager and it continued to be her favorite sport. Known for her cooking skills, especially her coconut creme pies, caramel cakes, and peach cobblers, she was never hesitant to share with all. Louise loved to dress and felt incomplete without a hat.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Claude McPherson Sr.; and two sisters, Almarie Crook and Vera Douglas. She leaves to cherish her memory to one sister, Dora Williams; five daughters, Mary Davis, Helen Loretta (Eddie) Staples, Betty (Delmar) Gardner, Diane (Michael) Davis, and Sharon McPherson; one son, Claude (Vallory) McPherson Jr.; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 27, 2012 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. R.L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include Jerry Babers, Curtis Beachum, Donald Beachum, Ervin Beachum, Jimmy Beachum Jr, Larry Beachum, Marvin Beachum, and Nigel Jefferson. Honorary pallbearers include Craig Cass, Michael Chavez, Louis Foster, William Hall, Don McPherson, Bruce Pollard, Ira Pottard, and Elmer Zeffers.
