Yu Sha "Eliza" Pilant 64, of Portales, NM died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at her home in Portales. Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 21, 2012 at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with Pastor Furgus Tunnell officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Pallbearers include; Brad Slater, Conor McWillaims, Kenneth Jeter, Kevin Poulin, Albert Hernandez, Gamaliel (Gamma) Carrera, Gus Hernandez, Philip Salazar, Eric Denton, Tim Bodine, Donnie Romero, Andy Alfaro, Jack Dendy and Jose Medrano.
Eliza was born February 5, 1948 to Ming Dei Tong and Hong Show Ho in Tsuton, Taiwan. She married Ed Pilant June 12, 1971 in Taiwan and they moved to Clovis, NM in 1975. She owned and operated The Orient Restaraunt and initiated the free Thanksgiving Dinner The Orient had every year. Her family and friends will always remember that she looked after others more than herself.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Pilant of the home; two sons, Michael Wayne and his wife, Kathy Hart of Reno, NV and Ricky Lee Pilant of Clovis, NM; a granddaughter, Kyleigh Abigail Pilant Phillips; Three sisters, Yu Shia Tong and her husband, Cha Jin Wu, Yu Fen Tong and her husband, Yu San "Johnny" Chang, Yu Yuan Tong and her husband, Ming Ming Chen, and Yu Ru Tong and her husband, Shih Shong Chen; two brothers, I Lung Tong and his wife, Shu Whei Hong, and Jei Ming Tong and his wife, Yuao Chin Wu all of Taiwan. She is preceded in death by her parents her sister, Yu Shia Tong and her husband, Cha Jin Wu.
