Theosia Martin, 97, of Clovis, NM died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis. Closed casket services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at First Church of God in Christ with Bishop W. Charles Green officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Thomas Tyler, Jerry Babers, Hubert Spellman, Tony Martin, TJ Martin, Tracy Martin, Terry Martin, Gene Martin, Fredrick Martin, and Simeon Martin. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at Muffley Funeral Home.
Theosia was born March 6, 1915 to Thephos and Willie (Johnson) Martin in Coolidge, Texas. She married Fred D. Martin June 19, 1934 in Falls Co, Texas and they came to Clovis in 1946. She was a founding member at Triangle Baptist Church. Theosia sang tenor for the Martin Quartet in Eastern New Mexico and West Texas. She loved to quilt, bake and take care of her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Della Faye Martin in Clovis, NM; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister, and four sons.
